Class 11 Admission in Mumbai for 2022- 2023

Class 11th is considered a milestone in the educational journey as it helps one in getting started on the right career track. Thus, one must wisely select the school before class 11 admissions. The majority of the schools in Mumbai follow the FYJC (Four Year Junior College) format from class 11 onwards. Earlier admission for class 11 FYJC used to be conducted through an entrance exam but for the session 2022- 2023, the admission criteria for class 11 is merit list only. The Directorate of Education, Maharashtra has given a tentative timeline in which the schools of Mumbai have to conduct their class 11 admissions for the session 2022-2023. School Admission Criteria for Class 11 in Mumbai

There are a variety of CBSE admission rules for class 11 schools in Mumbai. Before you shortlist a particular school, here are some CBSE criteria for admission in class 11

  • Students must have qualified class 10th exams through SSC, CBSE or its any other equivalent with English as a compulsory subject
  • For students willing to opt for bifocal subjects, they must not have studied General Mathematics in class 10
  • Students belonging to reserved categories must have a certificate of the same
  • For class 11 admission in Mumbai FYJC in science stream, students must have secured a minimum 35%
  • Students must have original documents if applying through the following categories- sports, art and culture, wards of servicemen and ex-servicemen, handicapped, project affected, wards of employees of state govt or central govt or private sector coming on transfer in MMR, earthquake affected or wards of freedom fighter.
