Documents Required for Nursery Admissions in Delhi 2023-24

With Nursery Admissions commencing in Delhi, there are a number of documents that parents should keep at hand. As declared by the Directorate of Education, the private schools in Delhi are to open their Nursery Admissions on 1 December 2022 and close on 23 December 2022.

According to DoE, certain compulsory and non-compulsory documents you’d need during the nursery admissions in Delhi are:

Compulsory Documents Required for Delhi Nursery Admissions 2022-23

  • Passport-sized Photo of the Child: a digital photograph with white background. The photograph shouldn’t be older than 3 months. OR a properly cropped scanned photograph
  • Passport-sized photo of the Child’s Father/Guardian: digital photograph with white background. The photograph shouldn’t be older than 3 months. OR a properly cropped scanned photograph
  • Passport-sized Photo of Child’s Mother/Guardian: digital photograph with white background. The photograph shouldn’t be older than 3 months. OR a properly cropped scanned photograph
  • Family Photo: a single digital photograph with the father, child, and mother with white background. The photograph shouldn’t be older than 3 months. OR a properly cropped scanned photograph
  • Residential Proof: Use any one of these – Ration Card belonging to the parent (with the child’s name mentioned); Voter ID (front & back); Passport of any parent (both sides); Aadhar Card of the child or any parent; Bill (water/electricity/MTNL telephone) on child’s or any parent’s name
  • Child’s Birth Certificate: issued by the Municipal Corporation. It should be properly cropped with no irrelevant background and the child’s name, D.O.B, parent’s name, and attestation by the relevant authority should be clearly visible. The child’s name and D.O.B must be countersigned by the Registrar of Birth
  • Child’s Medical Fitness Certificate: issued by a registered medical practitioner. The certificate should have Blood Group, Allergies (if any), Vaccination, etc. Before uploading, make sure there’s no irrelevant background and the D.O.B, child’s name and other details are clearly visible
  • Child’s Aadhar Card: both front and back should be uploaded. The document should be properly cropped with no irrelevant background, showing the address, name, birth year, and Aadhar Card number clearly
  • Father’s/Guardian’s (if applicable) Aadhar Card: both front and back should be uploaded. The document should be properly cropped with no irrelevant background, showing the address, name, birth year, and Aadhar Card number clearly
  • Mother’s/Guardian’s (if applicable) Aadhar Card: both front and back should be uploaded. The document should be properly cropped with no irrelevant background, showing the address, name, birth year, and Aadhar Card number clearly

Non-Compulsory/Voluntary Documents:

  • Alumni Parent: Class 12th Board passing certificate and CBSE Marksheet of Father/Mother is required. The document should be properly cropped so that all the details are clearly visible
  • Sibling Applicant: sibling’s last fee receipt and school identity card are required. The document should be properly cropped so that all the details are clearly visible
  • Single Parent: proof of marital status; a Death Certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation or a similar authority. OR a Divorce Decree. The document should be properly cropped so that all the details are clearly visible
  • Religious Minority: in the case of Christians/Catholics, a letter from the Parish Priest/Pastor and a Baptism Certificate or Dedication Certificate are required. For other religious groups, a community certificate is needed. The document should be properly cropped so that all the details are clearly visible
  • Staff Parent: authentic ID card issued by the school. The document should be properly cropped so that all the details are clearly visible
  • Affidavits: They should be printed on a non-judicial stamp paper of a certain amount and must be attested by the Notary Public. The nature of affidavits could be specific to schools. Some of the majorly required ones are twin children, distance, single parent, rental house, girl child, etc.
  • Transfer Proof: The document should be properly cropped so that all the details are clearly visible

According to DoE, the age criteria for Nursery Admission 2023-24 in Delhi, the child should be less than four years old as on 31 March 2023.
